Data released by China’s National Bureau of Statistics showed on Monday that overall housing price declines in major cities in China continued to shrink in September.
In first-class cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, new home prices fell 0.5 percent year-on-year, reflecting a 0.4-percentage-point improvement from the decline in the previous month, while the annual decline in used-house prices narrowed to 1.5 percent in September from the 2.7 percent decline in August.
In the second and third-tier cities, the decline in the prices of both new and used housing slowed in September compared to August, according to China’s Xinhua news agency.
