The company that owns the Anantara hotel brand, Minor Hotels, has revealed plans to build a new resort and branded housing complex in Sharjah.
Arada is developing the Anantara Sharjah Resort and Anantara Sharjah Residences, slated to open in late 2027.
The new complex will have 128 opulent one- to four-bedroom residential units for sale in addition to 110 guest rooms and suites. It will be situated along Sharjah’s Al Heerah Beach, only a 30-minute from Dubai Airport.
An infinity pool, Anantara spa, a cutting-edge fitness center, and five restaurants offering a range of culinary specialties are among the amenities. There will also be spaces for events and meetings.
“Anantara is one of the most distinguished luxury hotel brands in the world and it is a privilege to bring this brand to Sharjah for the first time. Our partnership with Minor Hotels will provide buyers with the quality and delivery associated with Arada, combined with the harmony, culture, heritage, and services they have come to expect from the Anantara brand,” said Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, Vice Chairman of Arada.
The announcement is in line with Sharjah’s rising appeal as a travel destination for culture and lifestyle. The emirate has made significant investments recently in tourist attractions, beaches, and historical sites. In Sharjah, Minor Hotels sees a chance to introduce its well-known Anantara brand to a fresh market niche.
“In recent years, Sharjah has blossomed into a cultural hub, drawing both vacationers and business visitors with its coastal charm and making it an optimal destination for our latest venture in the Middle East,” said Dilip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of parent company Minor International.
Anantara Sharjah will bring the brand’s Middle East portfolio to thirteen properties, including locations in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar. This solidifies the brand’s position as a pioneer in upscale resort and residential developments.
“The expansion of the luxury Anantara brand into Sharjah is an opportunity to deliver our unmatched lifestyle offerings to a new audience. We look forward to working with Arada to bring this new resort and residences to market and ensuring its leadership position as one of Sharjah’s finest addresses,” Rajakarier added.
Sharjah, recognized by UNESCO as the “Cultural Capital of the Arab World,” is becoming a more well-liked travel destination because it blends the UAE’s traditional heritage with modern buildings and museums. The emirate has plenty to offer tourists of all stripes, including world-class museums, galleries, and archaeological sites, as well as family-friendly attractions like a sizable desert park.
