Mashreq Bank has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Expo City Dubai to provide mortgage financing solutions for qualified buyers wishing to own residential units under construction in selected projects in Expo City, whose residential portfolio includes more than 3 thousand units currently under development.
Under the agreement announced today, real estate buyers in approved projects will be able to apply for real estate financing during the construction phase, in accordance with eligibility criteria, credit approvals and approved conditions at Mashreq.
The cooperation includes financing housing units in selected projects within the real estate portfolio of Expo City Dubai, without specifying the names of the projects covered or the available financing rates or the repayment periods and interest rates.
During 2026, Mashreq Bank launched a map-based property financing program for selected real estate developers in the UAE, allowing eligible buyers to receive financing of up to 50% of the property’s value, with repayment periods of up to 25 years, according to information published on the bank’s official website.
In January 2026, the bank also launched the digital initial approval service for mortgage financing, which allows eligible resident employees, whose monthly income is not less than AED 15,000, to assess their eligibility for financing before buying the property.
The Mashreq agreement comes two days after Dubai Islamic Bank announced on October 6, 2026, the signing of a similar agreement with Expo City Dubai, allowing financing the purchase of properties under construction of up to 50% of their value, and for a period of up to 25 years, for qualified buyers, citizens, residents and non-residents, without requiring salary transfer.
The residential portfolio of Expo City Dubai includes a range of projects, including Mangrove Residences, whose announced units start from about $327,000 (1.2 million dirhams) and Sidr Residences, starting from about $512,000 (1.88 million dirhams).
The projects also include Expo Valley Views, which includes eight residential buildings and three-bedroom apartments, starting at about $460,000 (1.69 million dirhams) and scheduled to be delivered in October 2029, according to information published on the official website of Expo Dubai.
The Mashreq statement did not specify whether these projects were covered by the new financing agreement.
The residential projects in Expo City Dubai feature access to the Dubai Metro network, along with energy-efficient infrastructure, health and leisure facilities and green spaces.
Aladdin Al Disi, President of the Golden Levant and the regional distribution of Mashreq, said that the residential real estate market in Dubai continues to develop in conjunction with the increasing demand for the emirate as a destination for residence and stability, which enhances the demand for mortgage financing solutions.
He added that the partnership with Expo City Dubai reflects the bank’s commitment to developing financing solutions that meet the needs of buyers, pointing out that the launch of the instant digital prior approval service for real estate financing comes as part of Mashreq’s efforts to expand its digital banking services.
For his part, Ahmed Al Khatib, Chief Development and Real Estate Delivery Officer at Expo City Dubai, said that enabling more people to own their homes is an essential part of the city’s vision to create a sustainable urban community, pointing out that cooperation with Mashreq provides additional options for buyers in conjunction with the progress of construction work in its residential projects.
The agreement is part of Mashreq’s efforts to expand real estate financing services and provide solutions for buyers wishing to own residential units during the construction phase, in cooperation with real estate developers.
Mortgage financing options for projects under construction allow buyers to finance part of the unit’s value before it is completed, but the terms, ratio and timing of financing vary according to the bank, the project and the buyer’s eligibility. Those wishing to familiarize themselves with these requirements can see the Dubai-UAE Mortgage Finance Manual, which outlines the conditions for obtaining the financing, the down payment and associated fees, along with the comparison guide between buying a property on the map and the ready-made property in Dubai, which helps buyers evaluate the advantages and risks of each option before making a purchase decision.
