The data of the European Statistics Agency (Eurostat) released on Tuesday showed the growth of the construction sector in the euro area in August, the highest rate in 5 months.
The agency said that the output of the construction sector increased in August by 1.8% per month, compared to a growth rate of 0.2% in July, the highest growth rate since last March, when it recorded 1.9%.
Specialized construction activities grew by 2.5 percent, while the civil engineering sector fell 2.1 percent.
On a year-on-year basis, the construction sector in the region of 21 EU countries grew by 1.4 percent after contracting at a rate of 1.7 percent in July.
