The Egyptian government launched, on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in cooperation with Qatari Diar Company, the investment zone of the "Alam Al-Rum" project in Marsa Matrouh governorate, as part of the plans for urban and tourist expansion on the northwest coast, and the strengthening of the investment partnership between Egypt and Qatar.
The event, which was held on Sunday on this occasion, witnessed the participation of Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Engineer Randa Al-Minshawi, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and a number of leaders of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, as well as representatives of the Qatari Diar Company and the concerned government agencies.
The project extends over an area of approximately 4900 acres, east of the city of Marsa Matrouh, and aims to establish an integrated Mediterranean city that includes residential, tourist, commercial and service activities, thus enhancing investment opportunities and providing accommodation and work throughout the year.
